The most common local cuisine includes Chilli Crabs, Katong Laksa (with chilli paste) and Satay with peanut sauce, onions and cucumber. The Peranakan/Nonya cuisine is the second preferred cuisine in Singapore having the luxury of delicacies like Kaya, Mee Siam, Popiah, Rojak, Satay Bee hoon and Laksa Lemak. The Chinese food as eaten in Singapore commonly originates from southern China, particularly Fujian and Guangdong. The traditional Chinese dishes are Bak chor mee, Bak kut the, Char kway teow, Chee cheong fun, Fishball noodles, Hainanese chicken rice, Hokkien mee, Prawn noodles, Steamboat, and Yong tau foo. The smallest of the area’s big three ethnic groups, the Indians have had proportionally the smallest impact on the local culinary scene, but there is no shortage of Indian food even at many hawker centers. The traditional Indian Cuisine includes Fish head curry, Nasi briyani, Roti parata, and Putu mayam. Singapore is plush with many international Fast food chains viz. Mc Donald’s, Carl’s, Burger King, Orange Julius and many more. Vegetarian food is available without any problem in the entire Singapore.
